So I know I shouldn't start with "Sorry I haven't posted in forever, but we're really busy", because I'm sure you already know that. But, busy-ness has just stepped up its game in our house.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
First of all, I started a job just over a month ago. It's a title company, where I'm training to be a funder. I haven't worked in 3 years,so it's a bit of a culture shock. It's a "grown-up" job so that's definitely a first for me, and we are constantly busy. Any other place I've worked has never even been <b>half</b> as busy as we are in my office. It's good though and makes the days fly by. I'm struggling with the alarm clock in the morning though. I used to wake up when the girls did (around 9), but now I wake up at 6:15! Needless to say, caffeine and I are closer than ever.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Next, Derick got a new job! From what I understand, it's a company where they help people consolidate student loans. He also started free-lance writing for a Seattle Seahawks blog! If you haven't read his article yet, it's <a href="http://cover32.com/seahawks/2015/07/28/why-the-seattle-seahawks-will-bounce-back-from-their-brutal-super-bowl-loss/" target="_blank">HERE</a>! I couldn't be prouder of him and his accomplishments.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Third, the girls are conversationally speaking now. Speech therapy ended in June, and they were just keeping up with what they were learning. But as soon as it ended, their speech just EXPLODED. They speak in full and complete sentences and every time I hear it, it blows my mind. They count everything (sometimes it's 1...2...3...8), but most of the time they get it right. They also know all their colors and can sing a few songs: ABC's, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Twinkle Twinkle, The Wheels on the Bus. It's adorable. LOVING THIS AGE (minus the tantrums).<br />
<br />
We are taking a kid-less trip next weekend! Last year for Labor Day weekend we went to San Antonio, and we're doing it again this year! I'm really looking forward to some time alone, but I know I will miss the babes like crazy. No set-in-stone plans yet, we just know we will be there for 3 days.<br />
<br />
Well I think that's about all for now! Have a great weekend!<br />

Guys, it's been <b>5 months</b> since my last post. A lot has happened since then so I figured it was time for an update!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1. We just moved into a new house a little over a week ago. I'm still getting used to it; it's smaller by HALF, and we had to do some major purging to fit our stuff in here, but it's also cheaper (which is the best part)! We planned on buying our own house, but didn't qualify for as much as we would have liked, so we are going to use the extra money to pay off some bills so we can look again in a year or two.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2. Derick got a promotion at the bank, from Supervisor to Assistant Branch Manager! I am so beyond proud of him and all that he does for our family.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3. My second semester of school has ended and I did pretty well again! I'm finally getting the hang of this college thing. I also finished registering for summer classes. I will be taking all online classes so my fingers are crossed that I can stay focused while at home.<br />
<br />
4. We are taking the girls out of daycare for the summer to save a little extra <b>$$$</b>, which will make it a little harder to focus on my classes, but sacrifices must be made. I'd much rather be able to buy my own house sooner than later anyways.<br />
<br />
5. Kenley is getting her 6 month speech therapy test tomorrow, and they think this could be her last appointment! She really has learned so much, and so has Reagan. They talk <i>ALLLL DAYYY LONGGGG</i>. When Derick's at work they say, "Dada's at work?", and they love the word "no". They are really understanding their names now. For a really long time both of them thought they were Reagan! When they do something they think is awesome they say "I DID IT!", and when they want something really bad they just whine and mumble some words that I can <b><i>never</i></b> understand. It's a fun phase (minus all of the "no's") and I'm excited to watch their language continue to grow!<br />
<br />
Well I guess that's all the major stuff that's been going on around here! I hope ya'll have an amazing rest of the week!</div>

It has been a long time since I have written a post, and with 2015 around the corner I felt like this would be the best time to write one!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
School ended on the 10th. I passed all FIVE of my classes, and I have no idea how. And since class was out we decided to take the girls out of daycare until class starts again in January. So now I'm at home. I wish I could say it's relaxing, but it's not. I've been fighting being sick for the past month it seems like. But, I WILL SURVIVE.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The girls have a pretty good vocabulary now. Of course their new favorite word is "mine". I'm sure they picked it up from daycare because we NEVER say that word around the house. I have dreaded this phase, and now it's here. Sometimes when they say "mine" it's for a good reason. Like when sister takes the toy she was playing with...I let it slide. BUT, then there are the times that they are both minding their own business and then one will scream at the other "MINE" and will take their sister's toy from them. That is usually what happens. And it's horrible; usually ends in 2 babies throwing a tantrum.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Christmas was AWESOME this year. The girls really understood how to open the presents and actually cared about the toys and not just the boxes! They got a lot of cool things this year. And I can see their little minds working when they play with some of the more challenging toys. For Derick, I made him envelopes with a whole date planned out for each month of 2015. I'm really sappy so homemade gifts are my jam. And Derick is getting me a new pair of sunglasses since my f a v o r i t e pair has a broken lens. :(</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I haven't gotten the new pair yet because he wanted me to pick them out for myself and we really hate huge shopping crowds, so we will be getting them now that Christmas shopping is over.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
It has really been a good couple of months and it has been an even better year. Now I'm ready for New Years since we will be having a get-together at our house (jello shots included). I'm going to make some "lucky" foods to bring in the New Year, including pork, greens, black eyed peas, and grapes. Last year I made the mistake of not making ANY food and only having snacks, and I can pretty much say it only took one drink for me to get sloppy. Lesson learned.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Instead of resolutions I think I want me and Derick to make a 2015 Bucket List. We made one last year, but it got thrown into a drawer and was never seen again. I know we did a couple of things on the list but definitely not everything. So this year I think I will post it on the fridge or wall so we are constantly reminded to do it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">

Hey everyone! No, I haven't forgotten about you. I've been busy...as usual. I started school back up the end of August and have pretty much have had no time to myself. My house is definitely suffering the most from all of this.<br />
<br />
The girls' 2nd birthday is just around the corner and I can not even believe it's here. For their birthday we are going to have a tea party! I'm going to make little finger sandwiches and serve every kind of tea imaginable. I'm thinking we will do it outside as long as the weather is nice.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The girls are so active and rebellious now. When I used to say "no" they would stop whatever they were doing immediately. Now it's a game..."how long can I keep doing this after mom says no before she comes over here". It's not my favorite thing but I am trying to embrace this as a phase. They are saying more words now and can understand almost everything we say. They even know the tune to "ABC's" and hum it pretty much all day long. It's the best.<br />

As far as my school is going, I'm getting through it. It's not my favorite thing in the world, and spin class is definitely kicking my ass, but I'm still going. I'm only doing a 2 year degree so if I take classes during the summer it should really only take me til the end of next year, hopefully. Which in my head right now, it doesn't sound too bad. Props to all of the people who finished school. I have no idea how you did it.<br />
<br />
Well that's all for now. I hope everyone had a good weekend!<br />

It's been close to 2 months since the last time I made a post. Not much has really changed in those 2 months. Just busy chasing around crazy toddlers, as always. I have logged on to make a post probably 100 times but I never really had anything to say. But now I've got something! Actually, a couple of somethings!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We had the girls first official speech therapy appointment! They aren't saying any new words really, but they understand almost everything. I swear me and Derick could have a conversation right in front of them and I bet they know exactly what we're saying! We are learning some sign language first because it's a good stepping stone for verbal language. We won't be relying on it and if they choose to say the word instead of sign it, then we won't have to sign it. They already know a couple signs in a matter of a week; milk, cookie, eat. Our speech therapist said they are very smart (which we already knew) and should pick everything up pretty fast.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The transition from crib to bed happened at the beginning of this month and it has not been a smooth transition by any means. I'm pretty sure we've tried everything and nothing is working 100%. Right now naps are kind of 50/50. For naptime and bedtime, I have been tucking them in and sitting at the end of their beds. I don't say anything; I just sit there until they fall asleep. The first few nights it only took 10 minutes to fall asleep, but now it's taking closer to an hour to fall asleep. And even then, they wake up 5 minutes after I leave and start crying and fall asleep on the floor by the door. If you have little ones and have some good tips or if I'm doing something wrong, please <b>PLEASE</b>, comment on my post. I'm slowly but surely losing my sanity over here.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl3Xu_FDNIUmsVcb7AvQIcBu3AD-jaxZnxXAue8HFWcnBvE6z53ZTNZH1pltR92t_D-vrISmgJkJntsfZCJeP3WnwuxiKb_76Rmg-M7WXm0c6h3OmlpACy0BAHN02PTTNveSkCWbsqVw8K/s1600/sleep.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl3Xu_FDNIUmsVcb7AvQIcBu3AD-jaxZnxXAue8HFWcnBvE6z53ZTNZH1pltR92t_D-vrISmgJkJntsfZCJeP3WnwuxiKb_76Rmg-M7WXm0c6h3OmlpACy0BAHN02PTTNveSkCWbsqVw8K/s1600/sleep.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
On a positive note, I will be starting school again for the third (and probably last) time. I'm going to do the associates of business program so I can finish in 2 years instead of 4 and basically bypass all of the horrible required classes that I just can't seem to force myself to get through. Right now I'm feeling pretty good about being able to make it through this time, but I usually think that way every time I'm about to start school "for the last time". This time seems different though (how cliche...). Now the girls will be starting daycare full time and I have no reason not to go. Here's to hoping...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We will be taking our first "vacation" without the girls for 3 whole nights! I'm excited that me and Derick will have a little "us" time but I can't say that I'm not hating that I will be away from them for that long. We haven't been away from them for more than a few hours since they've been home from the NICU. I will miss them so much, but I know our moms will do a great job while we are away (and I promise I will only try and call you every hour or so...haha).</div>

All night last night and (practically) all day today, Cheryl and I have been baking and frosting our little hearts away! Derick's bank is celebrating their birthday tomorrow and asked if we would make the cupcakes for the party. Of course we said YES! The theme for their party is 50's and Derick already has his greaser outfit ready to go. We made Creamsicle, Red Velvet, Chocolate Malt, and Elvis (banana/peanut butter/bacon). I would say they came out fantastically.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjImJ_8ld0RuK2ypvETZbJNh9VbdneuMBXOIWtymFkFPlozq4ViT8Po15DNjZnD6Fy2_U7zd7SvD-d08moCKpy7DhAYLn4q1PCVgeTJiF4-r6oN8oJg0Xpqig9DxRnmyRV_YkIGsfzhDQMq/s1600/cupcaks.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjImJ_8ld0RuK2ypvETZbJNh9VbdneuMBXOIWtymFkFPlozq4ViT8Po15DNjZnD6Fy2_U7zd7SvD-d08moCKpy7DhAYLn4q1PCVgeTJiF4-r6oN8oJg0Xpqig9DxRnmyRV_YkIGsfzhDQMq/s1600/cupcaks.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I can't wait until everyone eats them tomorrow so I can bombard Derick when he gets home and ask "DID EVERYONE LIKE THEM?!"</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
On another note, we found a daycare to take the girls to. We will only be taking them twice a week to start with so they can get used to it. I mean, we've stayed home for almost 2 years and I don't want to shock the system and take them 5 days a week for 8 hours at a time. So I think that's the best idea for now. It will be SO nice to have some alone time, but I can't say that I won't miss them like crazy while they are gone.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Well that's pretty much all that's new around here.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hope your Monday TREATS YOU RIGHT.</div>

Today we had our final speech therapy appointment before we actually begin! I had to tell the speech therapist what Kenley's normal day looks like and updated her on other words and sounds she's making. I did ask (again) if Reagan will also be getting help since she was almost qualified and was told that the speech therapist will actually be teaching us more than the girls since we will be with them all the time.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
She suggested that we have visits twice a month. Our over-all goal for Kenley is that she learn 5 new words/gestures everyday for a week and that she should master that in about 4 months. After 6 months of therapy, they will re-evaluate her and see if she still qualifies or no longer needs help.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Words Kenley is saying:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Puppy (peh-pah)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What's that? (wazzzzz-at)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ball (bowwww)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Bear (bay-uh)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Reagan actually says less words but understood more than Kenley which is why she didn't qualify. Both of them understand quite a bit though. I'm pretty sure they know what I'm saying 75% of the time. I'm excited that we will be learning some speech exercises with the therapist. I feel like some of the reason they don't try and talk is because I'm not doing something right, but I also think it's because they aren't very socialized. Which leads me to my next point...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Mothers day out (MDO).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I don't remember where I heard about this but I decided to look it up this week and it seems like it's exactly what we all need. It's kind of like daycare except it's typically only 2-3 days a week and only about 5 hours at a time. That also means it's cheaper than regular daycare and with 2 babies, I need that. With Derick's new full-time schedule, he is basically working all day and night. And by the time he gets home, I'm exhausted from chasing the girls around, so my house is suffering lately and it is driving me insane. MDO would seriously relieve this problem. I know, I know...I should take time for myself for a few hours while they are gone but if I clean one day than I will have a whole 5 hours to myself the other day.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So far my search has gone no where. I found one in Cove but they shut down, and one in Kempner but they don't offer it during summertime. So I'm basically left with Killeen, and I'm not sure if it's totally worth it since it will shave off about an hour from the already 5 short hours just for driving. Feel free to give me advice. I need it right now.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hope everyone is having an amazing week so far!<br />
Here's some cute baby pics!<br />

Many of you know that me and my sister are bake-aholics. Well, over the last few days we have been making our bakery a reality! We finally decided on a name for our bakery and are getting a logo done as we speak! Now we just need to get things in order to actually bake from home! I am so excited that this is actually happening. I always just kind of thought that it would be something that we just <i>talked</i> about, but after all of our positive reviews, we are just going for it!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

So this week has been full of ups and downs. Here's what's happening at the Johnsons'.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1. Derick was promoted at work this week and is now a full-time employee! His official position is Branch Supervisor instead of Bank Teller.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2. Puppies are SO cute, but puppy behavior...not so much. Penny has me chasing after her all day, as if the girls weren't enough...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3. I made homemade chocolate ice cream today and it is THE BOMB.COM</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
4. We finally lowered the girls' cribs so they can no longer climb out (fingers crossed).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
5. Kenley and Reagan have been absolutely crazy since they have figured out how to climb on stuff. I am running back and forth all day just taking them off of things.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
6. I've started a journal (as if I need another writing outlet), because I can get the entire day on paper and out of my head so I can fall asleep quicker. I've only been doing it 2 days, but so far, it's working!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
7. We took the girls out to the backyard for the first time this summer! They ran crazy and they fell hard. Now we just need to blow up the kiddie pool so they can splash around!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
8. Since I don't have a mountain top, I will be using my blog and Facebook as one. I have some super exciting news to announce, but can not officially say anything until Monday! So the countdown begins!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hope you all have an amazing weekend!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
:) :) :)</div>

The girls have been beyond mobile lately showing me their new love for climbing on EVERYTHING. I think I have a mini heart attack every time I catch them standing on something. Their favorite thing to climb on is our couch, but instead of sitting down and being still, they stand up and suicide jump off the edge (luckily I have caught them every single time). "NO" has become a pretty regular word around here ever since this new phase has started.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This morning I woke up to Reagan just screaming, so of course my mom instincts had me up and out of bed in a matter of nanoseconds. When I got in there they looked like this...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOgHCjPCyrtCuDpJM-F8xo8k6RiSAgxuEEjikyNFSCHCZl7cDYFTXtVWMFwo9fnS0mShOxt5feRY1wxwzoxulPBzPxyhEtJIVViu4ZNgwhPwQaxvLd6GMD9M1dyCPu8bEqtedlz2uvoPF4/s1600/crib.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOgHCjPCyrtCuDpJM-F8xo8k6RiSAgxuEEjikyNFSCHCZl7cDYFTXtVWMFwo9fnS0mShOxt5feRY1wxwzoxulPBzPxyhEtJIVViu4ZNgwhPwQaxvLd6GMD9M1dyCPu8bEqtedlz2uvoPF4/s1600/crib.png" height="400" width="328" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Which means when Derick gets off of work today, we will be lowering some crib mattresses. Exactly what I wanted to do today.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hope everyone's day is a little less hectic than mine!</div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

We've added a new member to our family this week!<br />
I'd like to introduce you to Penny!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfBJNc5WAQ8o_8npatoPgNUFsX_pn8xyoA9aZdSKWabr-5ocX79kj-iypKfXh-aRJcsQpjiY5tI_aR4XG0q7MBUSnpBrxba2Fq-13uoPlJd2n-QGolYhx-AgD0wn5vryK1RZW-TN0qPqiR/s1600/penny.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfBJNc5WAQ8o_8npatoPgNUFsX_pn8xyoA9aZdSKWabr-5ocX79kj-iypKfXh-aRJcsQpjiY5tI_aR4XG0q7MBUSnpBrxba2Fq-13uoPlJd2n-QGolYhx-AgD0wn5vryK1RZW-TN0qPqiR/s1600/penny.png" height="638" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
She's a 6 week old Golden Retriever/Lab mix and already winning our hearts over. Although we knew getting a new puppy would be challenging with the girls, we really needed to get our "veteran" dog, Ringo, a friend to play with. Ringo is still a little unsure about her, but he is finally ok being in the same room as her. The girls just LOVE her. The night we brought Penny home, Reagan was so happy that she just started bawling. She would pet her and sob, and cried <b>harder </b>when I took Penny outside. It's been a bit of an adjustment, but so far so good!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLVC8z2szZ-KqWjwCiKrvwN-b6TrE97b4toeG2CPdfi4-IvGJ5mLUnfCHAXaEcf1WjgXOS7uWi4IlnIpXKXlG0ZeK-V7BfA6KgPEsu_MmX7sOPczU6-8baXP46eE9kSIBAANx-_zszP1Zh/s1600/kenleyzz.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLVC8z2szZ-KqWjwCiKrvwN-b6TrE97b4toeG2CPdfi4-IvGJ5mLUnfCHAXaEcf1WjgXOS7uWi4IlnIpXKXlG0ZeK-V7BfA6KgPEsu_MmX7sOPczU6-8baXP46eE9kSIBAANx-_zszP1Zh/s1600/kenleyzz.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdh4nL7Dd1F26hsb5DVjRrWmlpk1f0fZ_H_ei2v1sU1a-el5NB1q0ll3ogSnoNjecJvilQ1jFw1277EQVi8d2w1OuhC-dGvcloYqUE6oqpxhKsjh1zZXGe2RiveAQ6W-yhGbMxpY1AglpZ/s1600/reaganzz.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdh4nL7Dd1F26hsb5DVjRrWmlpk1f0fZ_H_ei2v1sU1a-el5NB1q0ll3ogSnoNjecJvilQ1jFw1277EQVi8d2w1OuhC-dGvcloYqUE6oqpxhKsjh1zZXGe2RiveAQ6W-yhGbMxpY1AglpZ/s1600/reaganzz.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
We finally had our speech therapy appointment for the girls today. They tested them in everything, similar to their NICU follow-up appointments, just to make sure speech therapy was all that they needed. Turns out they are doing way better than I ever anticipated! Let me quickly remind you that they just became 19 months old yesterday...<br />
<br />
<u><b>Reagan Tested:</b></u><br />
22 months in Adaptive Skills<br />
27 months in Personal-Social Skills<br />
27 months in Gross Motor Skills<br />
37 months in Fine Motor Skills<br />
Her only negative was 15 months in communication skills.<br />
<br />
<u><b>Kenely Tested:</b></u><br />
20 months in Adaptive Skills<br />
23.5 months in Personal-Social Skills<br />
27 months in Gross Motor Skills<br />
25 months in Fine Motor Skills<br />
And her only negative was 14 months in communication skills.<br />
<br />
The funny thing is that only Kenley qualifies for speech therapy since she is just a little behind, but the ECI assesment ladies told us that the speech therapist will work with both since they will need to be learning the same things anyway.<br />
<br />
Well that's all for this week. Now I'll leave you with these sweet baby faces :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I wish I were more interesting and had a great story to tell you about why I haven't written a post in a while. BUT, I don't. I've just been run-down lately with my 1 1/2 year olds. Would it be crazy to say that it was easier when they were tiny little babies?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Anyways, time to play catch-up...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The girls are now attempting to say their first words. Kenley says puppy (peh-pa), bear (bay-uh), and all done (awww dnnn). Reagan says puppy (pup) and bear (bah). Kenley has 12 teeth and Reagan has 11. And at this point, they're practically running wild all day.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We finally got an appointment with the speech therapist on the 27th. The first appointment is just an assessment and to see if we even qualify. After that, the speech therapist should be coming to our house to do the exercises. I can't wait for them to be able to actually communicate with me what they want. It would make life SO much easier.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Well that basically sums it up for now. I'm seriously going to try and be better about posting.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

First of all, I would like to apologize for my lack of posts. The girls have been <b>CRAZY</b> busy lately and I hardly have the energy to get on my computer after they go to sleep. My house has been in total disarray since the babes started walking. And when I finally get the energy to clean it, toys get thrown all over the floor again...<i>it's a never-ending cycle</i>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The end of February, me and my sister baked for a house warming party she was going to. We made cupcakes, cookies, and a cheesecake. My sister told me that everything was a hit! And multiple people told her that we should have a bakery! A few people asked for a business card, which we will have as soon as we can decide on a name!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Suggestions are welcome :)</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I started March celebrating my brother-in-law's birthday. We went to his house and had authentic Mexican tacos that were amazing. (Here is the recipe for <a href="http://davidsfreerecipes.com/chili-verde" target="_blank">chili verde pork</a>!) Later the same night, everyone came over to our house to play cards and had "birthday hotdogs".</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
A few days later I took my mom out for her birthday. We ate at Cheddars, shopped, and really just enjoyed being out of the house together. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Derick's birthday is the 15th and mine is the 20th so we are going to have a party at our house on Saturday. This will be Derick's 23rd birthday and my 22nd! We're going to be grilling hamburgers and hotdogs. And the festivities will involve poker, and if we have time, beer pong, washers, darts, and foosball. There is still so much that we have to do and only one day to do it, so wish us luck.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u><b>To-do:</b></u></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Clean the house</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Bake birthday cheesecakes</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Buy stuff for hamburgers and hotdogs</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
BUY A GRILL</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Empty our garage</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
Well, that's all for now. Hopefully I can get to my computer sooner than later next time!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Have a great weekend!</div>

Today was the NICU follow-up appointment, where they test the girls' development to make sure they're on track. If the girls are falling behind in an area, the office will provide ECI (Early Childhood Intervention) as a way to catch them up. At previous appointments, the babes were always testing right on track with everything, but at the last appointment, they were a little behind in speech. Nothing too serious to need ECI's help, but just a little behind. Recently, I've been trying to teach the girls associations between words and objects, but haven't seen any improvement. So I had a feeling going into this appointment that they weren't going to test very high in speech.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The first tests were all about fine and gross motor skills which they scored very (and surprisingly) high. They tested at 16 months! They turned 17 months as of yesterday, so they are completely caught up with their age as far as that goes! When it got to the speech portion, I expressed my concerns, and they were confirmed. The doctor finally said it's time to contact ECI and get speech therapy. I'm actually pretty excited about it. I've been waiting to hear a "real" word forever now, and finally (with a little help) it will happen!</div>

For Valentine's day we decided to go "all out" and get our favorite donuts for breakfast. Normally we make sure the girls are eating healthy, but since it was a special occasion we decided to let them indulge with us. They literally took ONE bite (enough for a picture), and then decided they didn't like it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLOZvS7DXcJQ7eDUEm9fKnhWLqXzOoB_DTWhyphenhyphennGT6nNUlFAAnNykaHtoz67VKbYsKiUoA7r1etRXsk1sll1tB9IT9XEKfCzAC4b-7_jFAtxTLZpijJwXIzcQ7n9JcmHnXoOyx0LxzLDOPW/s1600/kenleydn.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLOZvS7DXcJQ7eDUEm9fKnhWLqXzOoB_DTWhyphenhyphennGT6nNUlFAAnNykaHtoz67VKbYsKiUoA7r1etRXsk1sll1tB9IT9XEKfCzAC4b-7_jFAtxTLZpijJwXIzcQ7n9JcmHnXoOyx0LxzLDOPW/s1600/kenleydn.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhbwXwZSWcRnCJcnvvhPuTG3OQC0Emn8WsgUzZ_vpak4XD1V1WVzu-Kd537dzHPEAtqvchyphenhyphenSLIhpyri_3gn5miL4FZnLVg9yeXN5y3paDiMC-ett_S0xeHSxIZMyYnznL7qZeyRCIJyja0/s1600/reagandn.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhbwXwZSWcRnCJcnvvhPuTG3OQC0Emn8WsgUzZ_vpak4XD1V1WVzu-Kd537dzHPEAtqvchyphenhyphenSLIhpyri_3gn5miL4FZnLVg9yeXN5y3paDiMC-ett_S0xeHSxIZMyYnznL7qZeyRCIJyja0/s1600/reagandn.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm still trying to figure out how they are mine...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After they put their donuts down, we gave them some blueberries and whole-grain waffles; they devoured it. At least they voluntarily like healthy food.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Today we had a doctor's appointment for the girls' 15 month check-up. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Kenley now weighs 22lbs 4oz and is 28 1/2inches long. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Reagan weighs 22lbs even, and is 28inches long.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Everything seems to be on track, but we will have a super thorough assessment next week at their NICU follow-up appointment. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hope ya'll are enjoying the weather this week!</div>

Just a little less than 3 weeks since the girls took their first steps and they're walking 100% now. We must have had a good idea that it wasn't going to take very long, because we got baby gates <b>just in time</b>. Kenley walks with her hands up in the air, and Reagan just walks around like she's been doing it for years now. They got their first pair of "walking" shoes yesterday. It took the girls all but 5 minutes in their new shoes before they figured out how to take them off...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've started teaching them their body parts. Kenley knows where her nose is (which inevitably leads to her picking it). Reagan knows nose and mouth. I'm really starting to see them sort of understand the world around them. It's really awesome to watch them learn something new almost daily. Although they don't say any actual words right now, they do know some words that Derick and I say(come here, no, Kenley, Reagan, Dada, Mama, eat, night night time, etc...)<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
They have 2 appointments this month. The first is their 15 month check-up (crossing my fingers they don't need shots this time). At the end of the month they have their NICU follow-up appointment where they assess their development. Since they were born 3 months prematurely, they get tested for milestones 3 months behind their actual age. So even though they will be 16 months for that appointment, they will be tested at 13 months. So far everything has tested right on track and I'm pretty sure everything will be perfect this time as well.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

The day has finally come. We finally put up baby gates in the living room. No longer will we have our tacky chair laying sideways on the floor (which didn't even work anyways). Our new "grown up" baby gates are the bomb. Total lifesavers! I wish we had gotten them sooner!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdfuV-jTGHlRA75d6uBfzgdbU84EIUyQ2xiAtBOS6IPJNSdtVoq0SYAR6C2fO5iTQlmATkY5Cmki1AiSfJuEFv0VTWrtzsLLRWn1As-qqCFaggVmJeOzEccz6-9YGRjeG5xGeLOl4LFmO2/s1600/kreats.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdfuV-jTGHlRA75d6uBfzgdbU84EIUyQ2xiAtBOS6IPJNSdtVoq0SYAR6C2fO5iTQlmATkY5Cmki1AiSfJuEFv0VTWrtzsLLRWn1As-qqCFaggVmJeOzEccz6-9YGRjeG5xGeLOl4LFmO2/s1600/kreats.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Mine and Derick's new healthier lifestyle is going really well. We've worked out 4 times this week and I can't lie...I'm so sore, I can barely walk. I guess I didn't realize I was as out of shape as I really am. I love being sore though. It makes me feel like I'm actually working really hard even if I am doing "girl push ups". We're also trying to eat better. My first and only slip up was today. I just had to have one of the new Razz-ber-itas; I'm obsessed with those things. I'm also obsessed with making smoothies. I do the normal fruit smoothie and add either kale or spinach for a little vitamin boost. I'm really proud of how good we are keeping up with our new diet and exercise routine so far.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
YOU GUYYYYYYS. It's happening on Sunday! Every other day or so, Derick will say "we're going to the Superbowl" as if it's hitting him all over again. It's pretty cute. Anyway, we are having a little party at our house. It's also going to be a "cheat day" for our diet. We're making hot dogs, potato salad, and baked beans. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I hope you all have a wonderful Superbowl Sunday!</div>

Before I get into the nitty-gritty of this post, I need to announce that BOTH babies are walking. Should I still say babies?...Nope, I mean TODDLERS. I have toddlers now! They even seem like toddlers. Today I taught them where their nose is! It's unbelievable. If I'm reacting like this now, I have no idea how I will react when they start talking in sentences...omg.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnqRiGmdIA6A51VupVceIzvjFWZLGC6jKJImf5Kg0w1060gZSekFokfbJ6-V6JZZTBeOBtnAl4MHazlCRI5O0bYGNDBunCz6j6fsV-F3Z4wyhPTmS_gLz9Uik9DaiSR22xcXfp3L0-CcQZ/s1600/IMG_20140123_142836.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnqRiGmdIA6A51VupVceIzvjFWZLGC6jKJImf5Kg0w1060gZSekFokfbJ6-V6JZZTBeOBtnAl4MHazlCRI5O0bYGNDBunCz6j6fsV-F3Z4wyhPTmS_gLz9Uik9DaiSR22xcXfp3L0-CcQZ/s1600/IMG_20140123_142836.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Reagan</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
ANYWAYS...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Although I didn't make it full term with my twins, I still have "battle scars" or "tiger stripes" (stretch marks, to put bluntly). I have learned to accept them. After all, they prove that my body is capable of creating humans!...What I haven't learned is to accept my post-baby body. Sure I'm back to my beginning weight (which is amazing), but I was a little overweight before the girls to begin with. Not only that, I have c-section belly (if you've had a c-section, you know what I'm talking about). Now, I'm not going to force myself into thinking I can reach impractical goals. I just want to be healthy (and able to look at myself in the mirror and see <b>pure hotness</b>). So I'm using my blog to hold myself accountable. Starting Monday, Derick and I will be eating healthier and beginning a work-out schedule. I <u>will not</u> be weighing myself because I will try and make "unreachable" goals. I want to just <i><b>FEEL</b></i> better overall.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Wish me luck!</div>

It's only been 3 days since my last post, but A LOT has happened in that time...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1. Kenley and I decided to join Reagan on her sickness journey. We've all been coughing, sneezing, and having on and off fevers. I made chicken noodle soup last night for all of us, which cleared my sinuses <b>like a boss. </b>And luckily, the girls were less cranky today, but if things don't <i>really</i> improve by tomorrow, we will make them a doctors appointment. It's safe to say that the last few days have been bleh, but...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2. Kenley took her first steps yesterday! She was holding onto my finger walking around with me, and then she just let go. In my head, I was thinking "she won't walk, not right now...". But I still stood in front of her and had my hands out just in case. SHE WALKED. My once 2lb 2oz baby was walking. Now, she isn't a full "walker" yet, but she's not afraid to let go of my finger to go explore by herself. (Reagan shouldn't be TOO far behind, I don't think)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEia1iKzKrd4JFfZqGMB5gwbBpT5TMGh7QvPlsbzYIBvdgFl0A68wy2_48WQIfXTDNIe2MPhsiwElvUXartxehl6_KMJy3dzU81JH2Bw4WZk5HND9fh0ytRJE3D1Z1eJvqaz7GnTPCT_aA1F/s1600/krnap.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEia1iKzKrd4JFfZqGMB5gwbBpT5TMGh7QvPlsbzYIBvdgFl0A68wy2_48WQIfXTDNIe2MPhsiwElvUXartxehl6_KMJy3dzU81JH2Bw4WZk5HND9fh0ytRJE3D1Z1eJvqaz7GnTPCT_aA1F/s1600/krnap.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3. THE SEATTLE SEAHAWKS ARE IN THE SUPERBOWL. Seriously. This is happening. I have been with Derick for 6 years now, and in those 6 years, I have seen nothing but disappointment in his eyes by his favorite team. A team he has loved since birth. I have been there when the Hawks didn't make the playoffs. I have been there when they got so far, but not far enough. And now I can say that I was there when his team put pure joy and happiness back into him. I'm beyond excited to see his team finally pull through for him. He has been patiently waiting for this and it's finally here.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

So I may be a little paranoid as a mom. If the girls feel just slightly warm, I will pull that thermometer out <i>so fast</i>. Normally it's nothing, and Derick will say something along the lines of "they didn't even feel warm". So today when we woke up everything was fine. We did our normal routine and they took their nap. When they woke up it was time for lunch. Derick was just leaving for work as I was getting lunch ready. Kenley ate like normal, but Reagan was fiddling with her food. Lately she has been out-eating Kenley so I was a little surprised. After giving her plenty of time to eat (and her taking 4 bites max), I cleaned up and brought them both back to the living room. That's when I realized Reagan felt a little warm. I was a little reluctant grabbing the thermometer since Derick's voice was in my head, but since he wasn't home....there would be no judgement. I checked her temp and just like I thought, she was running a fever.<br />
<br />
We haven't had to deal with a fever yet so I wasn't <i><b>really</b></i> sure what to do. First I gave her some Tylenol. She didn't seem sick at that point so I went ahead and gave Kenley her bottle. Then it was time for Reagan's bottle. I know you shouldn't drink milk with a fever, so I put some really diluted apple juice in the bottle for her. She only drank about half, when she started acting sick. She started getting really whinny so I just cuddled up with her. I called Derick to let him know she was sick and he told me to put a cool cloth on her forehead. When I tried doing that, she had a fit. I ended up taking her shirt off instead so she could cool down. I checked her temp about every 20 minutes to make sure it was going down. It only took about an hour and she was fine again.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
I gave her more Tylenol before bed just in case. So wish us luck tomorrow that we have a healthy Reagan.</div>

I was realizing today (while we were packing up the girls to go to grandma's house so we could have a nice lunch to ourselves) that we have an extremely strict routine when getting the girls out of the house. I'm sure most parents do anyways.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We always let the girls nap before we go anywhere to ensure there isn't any crankiness while we are out. Also, they won't sleep ANYWHERE except their cribs and the car. So hoping they fall asleep in their stroller is not an option. While they are sleeping we pack their diaper bag, which is a whole chaotic yell fest between me and Derick. Why? Because he will be doing a checklist in his head while I'm off in the distance yelling if he remembered the wipes, powder, diapers, bottles, etc... Eventually I stop shouting (so I like to say) and we finish the bag prep. I generally think we OVER-pack the bag but, I just want to make sure that in a time of crisis, I'm prepared.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><u>Things Found in our Diaper Bag</u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Diapers...duh</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Wipes</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Powder</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Triple paste rash cream...(which works amazingly)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Juice sippy cups</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Bottles for milk</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Extra set of clothes</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Food (depending where we're going)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Boogie wipes</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Nasal drops with aspirator</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Teething tablets</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Small toys for entertainment</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Oh yea, and all of that x2 (I'm exhausted just thinking about it)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If we're going to bring them with us, we have to pack our limousine of a stroller in the car. If we are dropping them off, we have to pack 2 large walkers instead.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8x90LC-r9FcU3Ubq9ZHjNEgNXImz0X1btwhyI3xX7AlXa8U_9a2Q4JCK9qPEJBdU13-ooBYrr9oO2nMz0Wi2cUukuksCXmyc3kbdjQSnlJsN7XuZi8QGiQ1Lh-WQBQT2l6aa4ET-hOdNg/s1600/stroller.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8x90LC-r9FcU3Ubq9ZHjNEgNXImz0X1btwhyI3xX7AlXa8U_9a2Q4JCK9qPEJBdU13-ooBYrr9oO2nMz0Wi2cUukuksCXmyc3kbdjQSnlJsN7XuZi8QGiQ1Lh-WQBQT2l6aa4ET-hOdNg/s1600/stroller.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The girls typically wake-up from nap time around 1-2. We will typically feed them before we go anywhere, make sure their clothes are clean, and change their diapers (I usually do these things while Derick packs the car with all of the above). Reagan is easy-peasy when getting her strapped into the car seat. Kenley, on the other hand, hates it. She will start crying and (I don't know how else to say it but...) melting...down the car seat. Is that a good visual? After we start driving she's totally fine, like it never even happened.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This all might explain why we don't get out of the house much...</div>

It has been crazy hectic this week, so here's what's been going on...<br />
<br />
1. We brought in the New Year at our house with some family and friends. There were a TON of activities; beer pong, washers, foosball, and darts. I, of course, stood around in the kitchen (downing a million and one jello shots...and I maybe dropped a glass on the floor). I met a few people that night for the first time, and I'm not too sure what they think of me, but let me apologize now...I'm a mother of twins, so if there is a chance to party...I'm taking it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJeWk_vTZuTC77MCFUGPwQJnj5gnLUlKvDULI19tSUKibWsPU631iIfWsmAaWgM_gABeHIzxorAnWnNVVWj1X7hP-9MYfkmaRntJUyTtIiVK15hqGE6FhrqP-XtSbU4XU9LRtaRsv3D1eU/s1600/nye.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJeWk_vTZuTC77MCFUGPwQJnj5gnLUlKvDULI19tSUKibWsPU631iIfWsmAaWgM_gABeHIzxorAnWnNVVWj1X7hP-9MYfkmaRntJUyTtIiVK15hqGE6FhrqP-XtSbU4XU9LRtaRsv3D1eU/s400/nye.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Drunk moms. Nothing better.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
2. The inevitable has finally happened. The girls are wayyyyy to mobile now for me to keep up with them all day, so it's time to get some baby gates. If you've been to our house, I'm sure you've seen our ghetto sideways chair acting as a baby gate... the girls have figured out how to break down that barrier.<br />
<br />
3. I've always wanted to have a bakery/sweet store. Lately, Derick's bank has been asking me to bake all sorts of things for them and I'm loving it. It totally makes me believe that I would LOVE my own store. Maybe a New Years resolution?<br />
<br />
4. Sleep training the girls has been <b>AWESOME</b>. Seriously, I have no idea why we haven't tried it until now. They are going to bed around 8-9, sleeping through the night, and waking up around 9! My sanity has been saved! They are also down to 1 nap/day which is also working out fantastically.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJhyaFOhW2dfmEfzMC0dL0tNJDzUc3eLSa0u2HrlBZP6d2fJdqojfqdWeWQUM2mBn9wWglUpsU8RJ0l99OBeyeRWKT1pqpXyZ9mhad_csGYjBO2QWxpGRoonoe-pmScCGXEygvXJ_jANMZ/s1600/cart.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJhyaFOhW2dfmEfzMC0dL0tNJDzUc3eLSa0u2HrlBZP6d2fJdqojfqdWeWQUM2mBn9wWglUpsU8RJ0l99OBeyeRWKT1pqpXyZ9mhad_csGYjBO2QWxpGRoonoe-pmScCGXEygvXJ_jANMZ/s640/cart.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
5. Instead of having individual resolutions this year (since I can never finish mine), Derick and I are making a 2014 bucket list. It's kind of hard to think of things to do since we will also need to plan around the girls, but so far the list looks great! We have a couple of things to do with the girls, and a few others just for mom and dad.<br />
<br />
<u><b>2014 Bucket List</b></u><br />
Go to the park<br />
Go to the Zoo<br />
Eat at <a href="http://www.fogodechao.com/" target="_blank">Fogo de Chao</a><br />
Go to a hockey game<br />
See a show in Austin<br />
Get a kiddie pool for the girls this summer<br />
<br />
That's it so far.<br />
<br />
I'm really looking forward to what 2014 has to offer, and I feel like it's already started out wonderfully. I hope it has for you too! :)</div>

Today was technically the girls first Christmas. Last year they were still in the NICU and still a month away from coming home. I can not even tell you how happy I was to have them home this year!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPc4x_dpQRikp7dfCO0AQznfUiedMce2o3UKeOVn3DK90pltRnyDGI_jXO2fiUUNtVekyzNtpWDxq5fhWUxOybR_McROMsV-zNxbZ3ts6e1n0qexxl-SAoDhWA3ngbuRMHB0OYDkU_s_LZ/s1600/xmass.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPc4x_dpQRikp7dfCO0AQznfUiedMce2o3UKeOVn3DK90pltRnyDGI_jXO2fiUUNtVekyzNtpWDxq5fhWUxOybR_McROMsV-zNxbZ3ts6e1n0qexxl-SAoDhWA3ngbuRMHB0OYDkU_s_LZ/s640/xmass.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We had to wake up early this morning to get ready to go to Derick's mom's house first. It was 7:30 and the girls have been sleeping in until at least 9 lately. So they were still sleeping and we had to wake them up. MISTAKE. They started crying and throwing their faces into their mattresses. (I knew exactly what they were feeling....) We brought them to the Christmas tree to open presents and they had no idea what they were doing, of course. They were more interested in the paper than anything. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then we got ready, put the girls in their car seats, and the tantrum began. Kenley LITERALLY screamed her guts out. Ok, maybe not "literally". But she spit up everything in her belly. Luckily her Christmas sweater was covered by a coat but her leggings were not so lucky. We had to take her out of her car seat to clean up the mess while Reagan just sat there and played with her new toy remote control.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We finally got to Derick's mom's and ate cinnamon rolls, drank coffee with a ton of sugar, and "A Christmas Story" played in the background while we opened presents. Then it was off to my grandma's house for the big Christmas dinner. The girls weren't really interested in the food until my grandma brought out the trifle.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1<span style="font-family: georgia, arial, verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 22px;">tri·fl</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
They devoured it. Kenley basically had to be stopped from eating anymore. After their sweet treat they started going into a food coma, rubbing their eyes and yawning. We decided to go home so they could nap (and so could I).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

It's Christmas Eve eve and also the final day of our fantasy football season. Let me elaborate...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Derick and I started a fantasy football league last year inspired by the show "The League". Of course, last year was my first year that I really followed football, so I didn't expect to do very well. Good thing I didn't because I ended up with our loser's trophy...The Toilet Bowl. It's exactly what it sounds like. A toilet seat with "The Toilet Bowl" written on the front and under the lid says "Casey Johnson 2012" (hanging above our mantle by "League Rules").</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This year I kinda knew what I was doing...so I thought. I started out with a great draft (we have a draft party before the season starts to pick our players) and Derick kept telling me I was going to be a tough team to beat. Now, I believe anything Derick says about sports...he's that guy who can tell you, from start to finish, how a game in 2009 went, he can tell you all of the stats of every player (basically), and somehow he still has space in his brain to remember how to brush his teeth. It's craaaaaazy. Anyways, I had a winning record for a few weeks, and for some reason that started to change. By the end of the season I was 5-8 and once again, was in The Toilet Bowl playoffs.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
GUESS WHAT...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have the toilet bowl AGAIN for the 2nd year in a row! Not only that, but my brother won the 1st place trophy for the 2nd year in a row! So basically this season was for nothing. But let me tell you...I WILL be doing my research this year. I WILL be listening to Derick anytime he says ANYTHING about football (instead of tuning him out), and I WILL win next year...hopefully.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
On a nicer, more Christmas-y note...we made gingerbread cookies! The first time my whole life I have ever made and decorated gingerbread cookies! Although I didn't have any cookie cutters, I just used a glass and made "ornament" cookies :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaWQ-pwKksyARjGcnMK2eNsAV8-zK42M1p0n6wsMx3jjrgsXpiVVu3wGdm2rA49cY2yzZzHGIo6Kl0qREVmKwx_28T5BHxuKU4tF-nDLOqnkmRLk4AFIeFZmmBh77GjH6SrJJhlEMh_oR_/s1600/cookies.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaWQ-pwKksyARjGcnMK2eNsAV8-zK42M1p0n6wsMx3jjrgsXpiVVu3wGdm2rA49cY2yzZzHGIo6Kl0qREVmKwx_28T5BHxuKU4tF-nDLOqnkmRLk4AFIeFZmmBh77GjH6SrJJhlEMh_oR_/s640/cookies.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Derick had to make Seahawks cookies...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

I used <a href="http://abitofbeesknees.blogspot.com/2011/12/homemade-gingerbread-cookies.html" target="_blank">this gingerbread cookie</a> recipe and they are DUH-licious. We saved a couple extras for the girls to decorate tomorrow! I will SERIOUSLY try and remember to take pictures of that. The rest of tonight has been cran-brrr-itas and "How The Grinch Stole Christmas", what's better than that?!</div>

Well our Christmas party was great and I plan to have them for many years to come. Unfortunately, I had so much fun that I forgot to take ANY pictures. WHAT?! I even asked around to a few people and they didn't take any either! Must have been a good party! They girls seemed to enjoy it too! They love being passed back and forth from one person to another. They are total hams! They ended up falling asleep at 10 and woke up not too long after. I don't blame them though, a house full of people singing at the top of their lungs would wake me up too. Everyone left by midnight, and the girls finally went to sleep at 1. And guess what?...They slept all night.<br />
<br />
The girls have been sleeping until 9:30am recently, and although that sounds AH-mazing, they aren't going to sleep until 11pm! So starting tonight, we have cut down their 2 naps/day to 1/day. Tonight they were ready for bed at 8:30pm. I think if they are waking up often tonight, then we will also start waking them up in the morning around 8am.<br />
<br />
We are also going to try and stop rocking them to sleep. I know...I know...almost 14 months old and we still have to rock them to sleep. I have to admit that I love it on occasion, because sometimes, that's the only 1-1 bonding we get for the day. But, I envy the parents who put their children to bed (while they are still awake) and they slowly drift off to sleep. It would be so much easier. Sometimes while I'm rocking Reagan to sleep, Kenley will throw a fit because she's also tired, and I can't rock her at the same time. So this would really help alleviate that bedtime meltdown. We're going to wait for a day that Derick is off to try it, so if we have a sleepless night, at least he won't have to work the next day.<br />
